Spirulina

If you are knew to all this, you might have heard the name a couple of times, spirulina is maybe one of the most common superfoods, with a range of health benefits.

So, what is spirulina?  It is actually an  algae, an blue-green algae to be specific,  in the right matter of “writing” it is called a cyanobacteria. There are two main kinds that are used: Arthrospira platensis and Arthrospira maxima.  It is a supplement used by both humans and animals as a dietary supplement, but also as a whole food. You can find it in several different forms: tablets, flakes and powder form. This algae is rich in many things, some of the nutritions are protein (60%), vitamins, minerals and carotenoids plus much, much more.

Spirulina is also said to have a range of health benefits;

  • Boost energy
  • Decrease  cravings and appetite
  • Increase endurance and stamina
  • Support healthy immune support, heart and brain
Try spirulina today, and see what you think about it. My own experience was positiv, and I have now used it for several years. It is very pleasant to take in powder form with some orange juice, or just in tablet form. Look under neath the product section to see some of the spirulina I have tried out.
