healthy eating my way (allergy friendly)
So a couple of weeks ago we got invited over to one of our friends, and they made this quick, but so good dinner. And then we found out that this is the way that Koreans eats most of their meat around here. You fry or grill the meat without any seasoning, and then add on some mushrooms too. Some lettuce, and some other leafy vegetables, throw in some garlic, some alfalfa sprouts (some times with Korean chilies) and wrap it up and your read to go. Koreans put the whole thing in their mouth, but lets just say it is a mouth full.
Lettuce (washed and dried)
Sesame leafs (washed and dried)
Garlic ( chopped)
Soy bean paste
Mushrooms ( fried or bbq)
Meat ( of your choice) cut thin. After cooked, cut into little pieces.
Today we went to a birthday party, and we of course had it Korean style. What you put in your lettuce wrap is very diverse, there is a lot to choose from. It was a great way to end a super weekend. Good food, and good company. First time I ate ice cream with chop sticks:)
And then here are some more pictures from Jeju. Koreans are big on organic food, and a couple of years ago South-Korea was one of the first Asian countries to ban use of antibiotics when it comes to meat etc. I also like the fact that they don’t use plastic bags, they just re-use paper boxes.
I hope all of you had a great weekend too. And that you have a great Columbus day!
